Vivo Launches V20 Pro, V20 (2021), & Y51 Smartphones In India

At the beginning of this month, Vivo has launched its latest smartphone under the V-series called Vivo V20 Pro. It comes in a single storage option with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and costs Rs 29,990. While the device was launched with Android 10-based Funtouch OS 11, Vivo already released the Android 11 OTA update in India. The company also launched the V20 2021 as an upgrade to the previously launched Vivo V20. Compared to the Vivo V20, the new V20 2021 comes with the latest Snapdragon 730G mobile platform. The Vivo Y51 is the company’s third smartphone to launch in December. It is available via Flipkart, Amazon, and Vivo India e-store for Rs 17990.

One UI 3.0 Roadmap For Samsung Galaxy Smartphones

Samsung has released the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 OTA update for its Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, & Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones. Earlier this month, the company also came up with a roadmap for the One UI 3.0 update for the rest of its smartphones. The Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, and Galaxy S10 series will be getting the Android 11 update in January 2021. The Galaxy Fold, the first-ever foldable from Samsung, will receive the same update in February 2021. Speaking of the Galaxy M and Galaxy A smartphones, Samsung will begin rolling out the One UI 3.0 update from March 2021.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform Unveiled

Qualcomm has officially revealed the details of its next-gen flagship 5G mobile platform – Snapdragon 888. The new Snapdragon 888 will be powering the majority of the flagship Android smartphones lancing in 2021. It is built on a 5nm node and comes with an integrated Snapdragon X60 5G modem. Qualcomm claims the Kryo 680 CPU on this new chipset will offer up to 25 percent better CPU performance. The Adreno 660 GPU will offer up to 35% faster graphics rendering and is also 20% more power-efficient than its predecessor.

Infinix Zero 8i, Smart HD 2021, & X1 Smart TVs Launched

Infinix has launched two new smartphones and also debuted the smart TV segment in December. The Infinix Smart HD 2021 powered by Android 10 Go Edition is priced at Rs 5,999. It comes with a 6.1-inch HD+ display, Helio A20 SoC, and a 5000mAh battery. Speaking of the Infinix Zero 8i, it features a 6.85-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and is powered by Helio G90T SoC. There is a 48MP quad-camera setup on the rear and a 16MP dual cameras on the front. The Infinix Zero 8i is available on Flipkart for Rs 14,999. Infinix also launched the 32X1 and 43X1 smart TVs priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 19,999 respectively.

Transsion Launches Tecno POVA & Spark 6 Go In India

Transsion’s Tecno Pova is the latest budget smartphone to launch in the Indian market. It comes in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB options and costs Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively. The device comes with a large 6.8-inch HD+ and a 12nm Helio G80 processor. It sports a huge 6000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging as well. The company also launched the Spark 6 Go with a 6.52-inch HD+ display and Helio A25 processor. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It retails for Rs 8,499 via Flipkart and offline stores across the country. Both devices run on Android 10 with HiOS skin laid on the top.

Moto G9 Power Goes Official In India

After launching the first-ever 5G smartphone under the Moto G series, Motorola also introduced the Moto G9 Power in India. It packs decent specifications and is priced at Rs 11,999. It sports a 6.78-inch HD + display and is powered by Snapdragon 662 mobile platform. Even at this price, the Moto G9 Power comes with a 64MP triple camera setup. Motorola also released the list of 22 smartphones which will be receiving the Android 11 update starting early next year.

OPPO Launches Reno5 5G, Reno5 Pro 5G, & Reno5 Pro+ 5G

OPPO has launched three new 5G smartphones under the Reno5 series in China — Reno5 5G, Reno5 Pro 5G, & Reno5 Pro+ 5G. The Reno5 Pro+ 5G is the world’s first smartphone to feature the new 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. All three smartphones sport a 90Hz OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and support 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging technology. As of now, these new OPPO smartphones are available only in China. In India, the company sets up the first 5G Innovation Lab at its Hyderabad R&D center.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Leaked Ahead Of Launch

Samsung is currently working on a new pair of TWs earbuds called Galaxy Buds Pro. While there is no official announcement yet, the completed details, along with pricing and availability, are already leaked. Samsung will be offering the Galaxy Buds Pro for free with the Galaxy S21 Ultra pre-orders. Based on the leaks, the new earbuds will support 3D spatial audio and upgraded Active Noise Cancellation. Apple AirPods Max Launched In India For Rs 59,900

After months of rumors and leaks, Apple has finally unveiled the AirPods Max over-ear headphones earlier this month. These new headphones are priced at Rs 59,990 in India and come in Space Grey, Silver, Sky Blue, Green, and Pink color options. Apple has included an Apple H1 chip on each earcup for computational audio. Like the AirPods Pro, these new headphones also feature Active Noise Cancellation, Spatial Audio, and Transparency Mode. As per the battery life, the company claims the AirPods Max to last up to 20 hours on a single charge.

Amazfit GTS 2 & Amazfit GTS 2 Mini Now Available In India

Amazfit has launched the GTS 2 & GTS 2 Mini smartwatches in India. The Amazfit GTS 2, priced at Rs 12,999, comes with a 1.65-inch AMOLED display. It is rated to last up to 7 days on regular usage. There is a heart rate sensor, along with a blood oxygen monitoring sensor (SpO2). The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini with a slightly smaller 1.55-inch AMOLED display is currently retailing for Rs 6,999. Both these smartwatches are water-resistant up to 5ATM (50 meters).

OnePlus 9 Live Images Surface Online

A month after the CAD renders are leaked, the live images of the OnePlus 9 have now surfaced online. The front of the OnePlus 9 looks similar to the previous OnePlus flagships. There is a punch-hole camera cut-out on the top left corner of the display. The device sports a large camera module featuring two large sensors and an additional smaller sensor on the rear. Nokia 5.4 & Nokia C1 Plus Officially Launched

HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia 5.4 and Nokia C1 Plus smartphones. The Nokia C1 Plus sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display and is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor. As the device runs on Android 10 Go Edition, it only packs 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Speaking of the Nokia 5.4, it comes powered by Snapdragon 662 mobile platform and includes 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. Both these new Nokia smartphones are currently available only in Europe.

Xiaomi Launches Mi QLED TV 4K In India

Xiaomi launched its first-ever QLED TV in India this month. The Mi QLED TV 4K 55 supports Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, and HLG formats. It comes with very slim bezels and offers a 96 percent screen to body ratio. The TV runs on Android TV 10 with the in-house PatchWall skin on top. It comes with Chromecast built-in and supports Google Assistant. In terms of audio, there is a 6-speaker setup offering 30W output.

HiSense Tornado 4K TV Launched With 102W Speaker Setup

HiSense has launched its first-ever TV under the new Tornado series in India. It comes in a 55-inch screen size and will be available at an inaugural price of just Rs 44,990. The company is also planning to bring the 65-inch variant to India in the first quarter of 2021. This new TV with the model number A73F supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The best feature of the TV is its built-in 102W sound system. It features four full range and two high-frequency front-firing JBL speakers. The TV runs on Android TV OS and supports all the popular OTT apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney + Hotstar.

Qualcomm Announces 11nm Snapdragon 678 Mobile Platform

A couple of weeks after unveiling the flagship Snapdragon 888 mobile platform, Qualcomm also announced the Snapdragon 678 mobile platform as a minor upgrade to the two-year-old Snapdragon 675. The Kryo 460 CPU on this new chipset is clocked slightly higher at 2.2GHz. According to the company, the Adreno 612 GPU on this chipset is tweaked to offer more efficient multitasking and powerful gaming. We will be seeing smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 675 starting early next year.

Redmi 9 Power Launched With A 6000mAh Battery

The Redmi 9 Power is the latest smartphone in the affordable Redmi 9 series. It comes equipped with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 662 mobile platform coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. There is a 48MP quad-camera setup on the rear and a single 8MP selfie camera on the front. It packs a 6,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging via USB Type-C port. The base variant with 64GB storage retails for Rs 10,999, the 128GB variant costs slightly higher at Rs 11,999.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Launched With Snapdragon 888 Mobile Platform

Xiaomi Mi 11 becomes the world’s first smartphone to come powered by the all-new 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform. It sports a 6.81-inch 2K AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The Mi 11 runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12 out of the box. On the rear, it sports a triple camera setup featuring a 108MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP telemacro camera. For selfies, there is a 20MP camera on the front. The device is backed by a 4600mAh battery and supports 55W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

Anker Launches Eufy Smart Weighing Scale C1 For Rs 1,699

Eufy, one of the sub-brands of Anker, has introduced the Smart Weighing Scale C1 in India for Rs 1,699. It will be available through online and retail stores starting in January 2021. The company claims its smart weighing scale can measure a total of 12 parameters including Weight, Body Fat, BMI, Visceral Fat, Body Fat Mass, Lean Body Mass, and Muscle Mass. Users can sync their data from the Eufy app with Google Fit and Apple Health apps.

Vivo Unveils Exynos 1080-powered X60 & X60 Pro Smartphones

Vivo launched the X60 and X60 Pro smartphones this week in China. Both the smartphones come powered by the all-new 5nm Exynos 1080 chipset. The 6.56-inch E3 AMOLED display on the front supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, the rear camera setup of the Vivo X60 and X60 Pro comes with Zeiss optics lenses. According to the company, the Vivo X60 measuring 7.36mm thickness is the thinnest 5G smartphone to launch to date. The devices run on the latest OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11. Vivo also confirmed to launch the Snapdragon 888-powered Vivo X60 Pro+ by the end of January 2021.

LG To Announce QNED Mini LED TVs At CES 2021

LG is already popular for its OLED TVs. Now, the company is getting ready to unveil the QNED Mini LED TVs at the upcoming CES 2021 event. These Mini LED TVs will have around 30,000 tiny LEDs to offer a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. According to the company, the QNED TVs will come equipped with both nanocell and quantum dot technologies for producing better colors. LG plans to launch a total of 10 QNED TVs in 2021 with up to 8K resolution and up to 86-inch screen size. The pricing and other details of these new TVs will be revealed virtually during the CES 2021.
